Bees Losing Streak Extended To Five
Normal, Illinois - The issues on the road for the Burlington Bees (5-16) persist, as the team lost a heartbreaker to the Normal Cornbelters (10-11) at the Corn Crib June 21.

After a 4-0 lead through five innings, the game was quickly turned upside down. Normal scored four in the bottom of the sixth, then tacked on two more to take its first lead the next frame.
Burlington tied it in the top of the eighth in a two run, no hit rally. The Cornbelters countered with one in the bottom half of the stanza to regain the lead.
The Bees stranded a runner on third in the ninth to come up short in a tight loss.
Three Burlington pitchers were used, with Bobby Helt (Lake Erie College) crafting another good appearance in his second start of the year.
The big righty went for 5.1 innings, giving up five hits and three earned runs. He has thrown the most innings of any Burlington pitcher with 24, with an ERA at three.
Jack Duncan (Western Illinois) pitched the final 1.2. He let up two hits and no earned runs, as the reliever is yet to let up an earned run this season.
The top three batters in the Burlington order all had multi-hit days. Jace Figuereo (Southeastern CC) and Jackson Lindquist (Rock Valley College) both finished two for five with a run.
Cooper Donlin (Hawaii-Pacific) also had a pair of hits with two runs and an RBI to get to 14 on the season, the most on the squad.
Burlington next have a pair at Community Field, starting with the Alton River Dragons (10-11) at 6:30 p.m June 22. The game is Boots & Baseball Country Night + Fireworks, with a Buff City Soap giveaway.
