Burlington Makes Best of Exhibition Lost

Burlington, IA - Well, that was different! In spite of the score, the Burlington Bees (3-6) had some fun in a 16-3 seven-inning exhibition loss to the Clinton Lumberkings (5-3) at Community Field June 9.

Due to the game being an exhibition, it will not count towards either team's record or statistics.

Burlington displayed multiple players out of position, including Jackson Lindquist (Rock Valley College) and Cedric Dunnwald (Mt. Mercy University) both pitching for the first time since high school. Lindquist gave up runs and Dunnwald went 1.2 innings with one earned run allowed.

Bobby Helt (Lake Erie College), who has the most innings this season of any Burlington pitcher, also took an at bat in the seventh inning.

Landon Akers (Bellarmine) picked up two hits and two RBI's in three plate appearances, including scoring on his own triple after a fielding error.

Burlington resumes action on Tuesday on the road in a divisional matchup against the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp (8-3) at 7:05 p.m.
