Burlington Falls to Hoots in Home Contest
Burlington, IA - The Burlington Bees (1-1) trailed two after the first and never could crawl back
into it, as the team dropped its first game of the season 7-2 to the O'Fallon Hoots (1-2).
The Bees were hitless through four innings, with Christian Dunn breaking the drought in the fifth
(Volunteer State) with a single. Boston Halloran (Oakland University) scored him on a ground
out two batters later.
The other Bees RBI came an inning later in a two out situation. Scotty Savage (Milwaukee Area
Tech) hit a blast over the left field wall for the second Burlignton homerun of the season.
Burlington High School alumni Jacob Zahner (Southeastern Community College) made the start,
going four innings with two hits and one earned run.
Four other pitchers appeared in the game, with another Burlington native in Zach Leuschen
(Southeastern Community College) throwing the most of the bunch with two innings. He gave
up three hits and one earned run.
The Bees were hurt by nine stolen bases and eight total walks.
Burlington stays with the same foe, taking on the Hoots May 31 and June 1 at 6:35 p.m. Shea
Blanchard (Hawaii-Pacific) is set to take the mound tomorrow.
The team returns to Community Field June 2 at 2:00 p.m. as they take on the Illinois Valley
