Bees Rack Up 7-3 Win Over Cornbelters

The Bees racked up their fourth win in a row, as Aiden McGee (2-2) went five innings to notch his second win.  Shortstop Jaden Hackbarth was 3-4 with three runs batted in as Burlington took down Normal 7-3.

Tanner Holland opened the bottom of the first with a single to center.  Corey Boyette also singled, this one to right.  With runners on first and second Mason Schwalbach laced a one bagger scoring Holland.  The runners all moved up a base when Normal center fielder Timmy O'Brien allowed the ball to get by him.

Keanu Spenser was hit by a pitch loading the bases.  After a fielder's choice Caleb Wulf hit a sacrifice fly making it 2-0 Bees.

Normal came right back to score two in the top of the second.  Burlington retook the lead in the bottom half on a Brandon Bickford walk, a ground out, a wild pitch and a Hackbarth single.

The Bees broke it open in the home third.  Spenser, on a 2-4 night, singled to center.  Coy Sarsfield beat out a bunt to the second baseman.  Wulf walked to load the bases.  One out later Jackson Fisher earned a tough RBI on a hit by pitch.  A Hackbarth fielder's choice scored Sarsfield.  Wulf came around  with the third run of the inning when Holland singled to center.  Holland was 2-5, scored a run and had the RBI.

Burlington scored again in the fifth.  Normal scored again in the seventh.

The Burlington bullpen was outstanding once more, as Nick Tampa, Drew Martin and      Jake Jakubowski combined to hold the 'Belters to 2 hits and a run over the final seven frames.

The Bees hit the road for a six day trip to Pennsylvania beginning Tuesday.  They return to Community Field July 17, when they will complete the rest of a suspended game, then play a seven inning affair against Quincy.
