Bees Pitching Dominates in Win Over Clinton

Three Burlington pitchers combined to hold Clinton to 1 run on 2 hits, as the Bees defeated the LumberKings 4-1.

Ian Landreneau earned his second win, tossing 5 innings.  He allowed both hits and the run.  The Texas Wesleyan product walked 5 and struck out 4 to put his record at 2-3.  It was his longest outing of the year.

Steven Escarcega and Jaxon Ingram both threw 2 frames of scoreless relief.  Ingram notched his first save.

Clinton opened the scoring in the top of the first.  Rayth Peterson drew a two-out walk.  Matt Scherrman drove him in with a double.  In the end, that was the highlight for the LumberKings.

In the bottom of the inning, AJ Henkle walked with one out.  Kevin Santiago followed with his fifth home run of the year to make it 2-1.

Ryan Grace led off the home second with a line double to the right field gap.  Dawson Estep tripled down the left field line to drive him home.  After two strikeouts Sam Monroe switched places with a double of his own to right and Estep scored.

Pitching was the story the rest of the way, and the Bees took the win.

Jacob Norris took the loss for Clinton.  He is 0-4 on the year.
