Springfield, IL - The Burlington Bees (11-30, 5-7) lost their first contest this season to the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes (16-23, 8-5), getting shutout 7-0 at Robin Roberts Stadium July 16.

A total of four Springfield pitchers allowed four hits.

Cedric Dunnwald (Mt.Mercy University) was the only Bee with multiple hits. The lead-off hitter finished two for four to get to 29 hits on the season.

Landon Akers (Bellarmine) went one for four to get to the team-lead in hits with 38. Bryce Brown (Mt.Mercy University) also had a one for four day. He has 12 hits in eight games.

Burlington used three pitchers. Jack Duncan (Western Illinois) made his first start of the season and went four innings. He allowed seven hits and five earned while striking out two.

Matthew Dinae (Howard College) went for two innings, allowing one earned run on four hits. Erik Kiewiet (Mt.Mercy University) tossed the final two, letting up no runs and one hit. The big-right has thrown for five frames in the team's last two games.

Joshua Mauney registered the win for Springfield.

This game marked Burlington's first time being shutout this season. The team had two errors.
